    Lake Manyara National Park

    Vehicle Details

The beauty of flamingoes is one thing that pulls people to Lake Manyara National Park. The scenery in this park are just breathtaking, not to mention a variety of birds species. The beautiful birds not only add to the colour of the renowned soda late- they add to the tranquility of the entire park. This park gives a rare and special opportunity to see wild animals such as, giraffes, elephants, baboons and lions- you could even be lucky to see the ones that climb trees (lions). Buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, warthogs and zebras are always seen around the lake. The shallow hippo pool hosts hippos which you can be able to see as they ‘pop up’ out of the water.

    The Great Rift Valley Escarpment

This spectacular, 400 meters high escarpment is clearly visible from the park, around the lake to be specific. The long-stretching rift runs across the eastern Africa and it is one of the major tourism sights in the region. It’s simply what you would call indescribable beauty!

Do you want to know how some feature older than 15 million years would look like? Then relax around Lake Manyara and have a view of a life-time. The Great Rift Valley is home to several other natural features, for example, forests, hot springs, acacia woodland, high cliffs, grasslands, lakes among others.

    From our Experts

Lake Manyara is one of the small parks in the northern parts of Tanzania. With this, you can easily combine activities in this park, for instance, an excursion and a game drive. From the long experience we have had in the tour industry, we have these as the most interesting activities for our guests: cultural tours to the locals, bike touring, treetop walks and canoeing.

One day would be adequate for a tour in the park. Lake Manyara Hotel is an ideal place for any tourist. They have both delicious meals and very hospitable staff.

Best time to visit Lake Manyara

It would never give the same feel visiting Lake Manyara National Park and seeing no big wild animals. To avoid such an occurrence, then we would advise you to come over in the dry season, between July and October.

Are you a birds lover? Then the period between November and June would serve you right. Beautiful flamingos and pelicans will make your trip very interesting. Other birds include, African fish eagle, black heron, hamerkop, hornbill among many others.
