The route does not offer riders enough time to acclimatize because it starts somehow high- at 11,483 feet. Again, you will miss the beauty of the forest zone. If your objective is basically to tour and have fun, we would discourage you from this route. It is more suitable for an experienced climber.

Lemosho Trailhead  to  Shira 1 Camp

Camp 1 to 2 Climbing Kilimanjaro via shira route

Note:

At your Moshi hotel, an Oltumure driver will pick you up. You will be at Londrossi Gate for registration in a little while. The journey continues through more plantations and woodlands until it reaches the starting site of the ascent. The trail begins with a gradual ascent and keeps going until it reaches the Shira Plateau's rim. The trail offers a breathtaking perspective of the Kibo slopes. You will arrive at Shira 1 Camp after an hour of hiking.
One of the highest plateaus in the world is the Shira Plateau. You can have some extra pleasure ascending the Shira Cathedral if your heart rate and oxygen saturation permit. On day three, there is very little climbing to give you time to acclimatize. After around three hours of trekking, we have also scheduled excursions. The excursions are optional, though. After exploring the stunning rocky plateau for hours, your climb will come to a close at Shira 2 Camp.
The climb will begin with an approximately 4-hour climbing trip. Take advantage of the opportunity to traverse the desert and ascend to the 90-meter-high Lava Tower, a volcanic rock. Are you an explorer? Then you should choose this climb route. You will leave Barranco Camp and descend to the base of Barranco Wall before climbing a sheer ledge. The vista will be breathtaking and exhilarating, with Kibo on your left and Mt. Meru on your right. It takes 8 to 10 hours to complete the hike on this day. You arrive at Barafu Camp, directly beneath the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, after spending hours trekking across the picturesque slopes. If need be, we can split the climb into two to ensure your body gets some good time to acclimatize.
The climb's final segment is this one. It will begin at midnight to give you some peace of mind while you trek for the six to eight hours required to reach Uhuru Peak (the summit). The temperature is rather chilly and you'll have to put up with a lot of darkness because of the increased altitude. You have a chance to witness the sun rising over Mawenzi Peak and watch as it gradually changes from red to yellow during the climb. The vista is really breathtaking! You will reach Uhuru Peak, the mountain's highest point, after another hour of hiking.
