After an early breakfast, this day will be spent tracking game with your guide. The Mara's picturesque savannah grassland terrain and rolling hills allow the reserve to draw enough rainfall to sustain and nurture a sizable population of herbivores and the predators that follow. The big five creatures -- elephant, lion, buffalo, and rhinoceros -- are rather easy to sight, but rhino and leopard, which round out the group and are extremely wary and few in number, must be spotted with some luck. When you wake up in the morning, we'll pick you up from the hotel and take you to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is well-known for both its lions that can scale trees and its abundant birdlife, which includes flamingos and Egyptian geese. Leave the Serengeti National Park after breakfast and go to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge. The Gorge Museum is very rich in the fossilized remains of prehistoric animals and plants. lunch is served en route, then continue to the Serengeti for an afternoon wildlife drive. Dinner and sleeping at the resort or campsite.

Take picnic lunches with you when you leave for Ngorongoro after breakfast for a full day crater tour.
