Tour Plan

An Oltumure tour guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel as soon as you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. By responding to some of your initial inquiries, this expert will assist you in settling in quickly and, at the at least, explain what "Hujambo" means. Settle down and be ready for the ascent the following morning. If you think you'd benefit from an extra day of relaxation, let us know so we can arrange it. We advise that you take some time to rest, as doing so boosts your likelihood of succeeding in your attempt to reach the top. With the exception of the first and last days, your lodging expenditures are covered. These two have been left unrestricted to give you some freedom to choose where you want to be and to go exploring. On the basic package, the itineraries include accommodation and breakfast (at a cost of $40 per person). We can find you a more opulent hotel that is still in Moshi if you would prefer it.
After some well-deserved rest, our driver will arrive to pick you up from your hotel. Your first leg of the trek comes to a conclusion at the west-facing Londorossi Gate, where registration is handled. If this is your first time in Tanzania, the drive will then continue to Lemosho Trailhead, where you will have lunch. The climb begins following lunch. Today's easy hike through the dense forest should only take you four hours. If you're lucky, you might see some animals, such as monkeys or buffalo. There aren't many steps in this region. Big Tree Camp is named for the large tree that it is located under. The camp is quite lovely and home to many different species of birds and animals.
Your ascent begins in the forest, where it ended yesterday. As you ascend toward the Shira Plateau, the hike will take you over heather and moorland. You need 5 to 6 hours to complete the climb because it is fairly steep and requires numerous rest stops. After the lunch break, the road will level off, making the trip simpler. You can see the amazing Kibo Peak just in front of you from the edge of the plateau. The trail will descend to Shira 1 Camp after leaving Kibo Peak in a moderately downward direction.
This day will be spent discovering the magnificent Shira Plateau. Don't descend before climbing the Shira Cathedral if you feel fit enough and our adventure professionals can support it with the results of the health exams. Later, the group travels over the Alpine Desert to reach Moir Hut. You'll then travel to the Lava Tower in roughly 4 hours. You may see more of the lovely surroundings by climbing to the tower's summit. After a short rise, you will arrive at the Moir Hut Camp. You can also decide to bypass the Lava Tower Route and instead investigate the Lent Group. It might be simpler for you and will provide you with breathtaking views of the Kenyan plains from the Shira Plateau.
You'll enter an alpine desert today, and then, on a ridge that slopes steeply, you'll connect to the Northern Circuit. If on Day 4 you weren't able to visit the Lent Group, you might want to think about taking a side trip to Buffalo Camp and climbing the 3,375-meter-high Little Lent Hill instead. You'll need between 5 and 7 hours to complete the trip.
One of the routes that is little used is this one. However, it is one of the simplest and gives you the opportunity to travel through a variety of environments, including desert, valleys, moorland, and more. On the east side, the ascent continues. The path can be the most tranquil traveling through the untamed alpine terrain. Like yesterday, the trip will take you between 5 and 7 hours.
The location between Kibo and Mawenzi peaks is the best place to have an exciting experience. This is known as "The Saddle" informally. The School Huts are reached after a gradual ascent. Early afternoon is the time. The rest of the day should be spent preparing ready for the last leg to the summit. Rest since you will need additional energy for this mistake, including some for celebrating your success.
Since this is difficult, it may begin as early as midnight. You go through the night along a rocky path until you reach Gilman's Point, the rim of the main crater. Short rest stops are required to give your body a balance while navigating the difficult terrain as the walk then begins to ascend for a few hours. You will never experience anything more gorgeous than sunrise around Gilman's Point! You are reenergized to continue the climb even more tenaciously after taking in the breathtaking view of Mawenzi Peak. You will reach Uhuru Peak, Mount Kilimanjaro's highest point, in about 3 hours; congrats, you did it! There is no better way to mark your win than to simply look out over the vastness of stunning vistas covered in snow and towering peaks. Now that you've reached the summit, it's time to begin your descent. The ascent will continue through Kibo Huts all the way to Mweka Camp. You'll eat your final meal on the mountain right here. Once you're satisfied, you can enjoy a wonderful reward for a job well done in the shape of a restful sleep. A tough yet thrilling 14 hours of adventure make up day 8!
The hike descends for two to three hours to reach Mweka Gate through the wonderful woodland. You won't fail to see a group of monkeys having fun on those trees. At Mweka Gate, pick up your certificate of honor. Your ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro is now complete. Congratulations… After that, your driver will take you back to your Moshi hotel. It's time for you to unwind; a healthy shower, a tasty supper, and a good night's sleep will go a long way toward rewarding you for your success.
We decided not to schedule anything for you today so that you could take some time to unwind after your strenuous climb up Kilimanjaro. Before your scheduled departure in the evening, you can do some exploring in Moshi. You can elect to extend your stay and go on a safari in Tanzania, or you can choose to take a break on one of our stunning islands, like Zanzibar Island. When you're prepared to return home, our driver will transport you safely to the airport for your flight. You are welcome to contact Oltumure Tours and Safaris at any time in the future, and we wish you a safe journey.
